Inktober 2016 – Stayf Draws
Here I will post all my drawings of Inktober 2016. If you want to see how I ink all my drawings for Inktober check out my YouTube Channel, I post videos of all my Inktober drawings on Stayf DRAWS YouTube Channel. So what is Inktober? Inktober is an initiative to post one ink drawing every day during October. The initiative came from Comics Artist Jake Parker who started Inktober 7 years ago. He wanted to improve his inking skills by posting an ink drawing each day during October.
For more information about the rules and about Inktober visit his site. He also created a prompt list for each day of October 2016.
Inktober rules:
1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
2) Post it online
3) Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2016
4) Repeat
Note: you can do it daily, or go the half-marathon route and post every other day, or just do the 5K and post once a week. What ever you decide, just be consistent with it. INKtober is about growing and improving and forming positive habits, so the more you’re consistent the better.
Initially I did not want to participate because I am working on a new picture book project called Cubby the Lion. But for the project I need to study wildlife and especially lions. I found my old fountain pen again and started doing sketches in my sketchbook. So I thought, why not combine the two and do ink drawings every day during October 2016.
October 1 – FAST
October 4 – HUNGRY
October 5 – SAD
October 21 – BIG
October 22 – SMALL
I had a great time doing all of the Inktober drawings. It was a great change to work with a variety of materials. Inking on paper and on the iPad. It was also great to explore the character of Cubby the Lion. Here the last video of the series:
